Son architecture asymétrique peu banale a tout de suite séduit Ana Marie et Gerard van Hooft qui, en 2005 et après de gros travaux, y ont ouvert de belles chambres d'hotes. " Ór" et "Aubergine"plaisent par leur sobriété contemporaine et reposante, tandis que la "Bleue"rallie les amateurs de romantisme et de charme familiar à la francaise. La chambre du Papillon est ravisante avec sa salle de bains a l'anciene(parviendrez-vous à percer le secret de son nom? Le reste de la maison réserve d'autres belles surpises, La salle Constant et Moliere expreime toute l'élégance classique d'un salon de réception cossu, et la salle "Maya", décorée d'objets provenant de nord de Honduras.  Here at château Constant, we thought of honoring a explendid room, with the name of M. Mario Constant, the man who had this château built for his family, he enjoyed collecting american automobiles, painting, photography, We found traces of his likings while renovating his dream, that became our dream.We at château Constant respected his vision and tried to bring it back to its glory.
La salle Constant is a lovely ambiance for our guests reunions, with its high ceilings, tiffany lamps, it posseses a marble neo classic chimney from the time of louis XV. It opens its beautiful doors to la salle Moliere making what it was originally meant to be a ballroom with all its glory.

the mayan room
 The mayan room thanks it name to the collection of original objects excavated from a farm in the northern part of honduras, where we lived a while ago. bringing back a little bit of my heritage to our home and sharing it with our guest gives us a very special satisfaction. The mayan room is also our dining room, where we can accomodate up to 12 persons to enjoy either our evening meals or our lovely breakfast. the mayan room can also be transformed into a small lounge for our guests.
HISTORY:
The Maya first settled in 1500 BC and developed small villages and beliefs as well as methods such as planting crops, making clothing/jewelry, etc. all of which started the Mayan culture/tribe. The Maya began to build ceremonial centers around 200 AD, which contained courts for playing ball, plaza's, temples, pyramids, etc. The Mayans also developed a highly sophisticated calendar system and hieroglyphic writing. There ways of using as well as writing numbers was exstrordanary and even lead to the discovery of the number 0. they used advanced techniques of irrigation and terisan. Their crops quality was probably great, because of there ways/methods of farming (which for the Maya was the slash and burn method/technique). The Mayan's classic age began at around 250 AD and ended in about 900 AD they controlled over 40 cities which contained 5,000 to 50,000 people. The Mayan's post classic period lasted from 900 AD to 1500 AD Cities such as Chichen Itza, Uxmal, and Mayapan in the highlands of the Yucatan Peninsula flourished for several more centuries. |
